Retreat FAQs
What is an 'Intensive Recovery Retreat'?
The Intensive Recovery Retreat is a small-group experience designed to help you step away from everyday routines, screens and constant stimulation, creating space for physical and mental recovery.
The programme can include breathwork, cold exposure, sound healing, movement, wellness, silence, shared meals and journaling. A fire ceremony offers a symbolic moment to let go of what you no longer want to carry with you, while leaving plenty of time simply to slow down and reconnect.
Why do a '5 Day Silent Retreat'?
A silent retreat gives you the rare opportunity to step away from the noise, demands and constant stimulation of everyday life. By removing familiar distractions, you create space to slow down, reflect and become more aware of your thoughts, emotions and habits. The silence allows for deeper meditation, greater mental clarity and a chance to break away from automatic patterns. It is time to reconnect with yourself, process what has been occupying your mind and return to everyday life with a clearer sense of what matters.
What is a Silent Retreat?
A silent retreat is an extended period in which participants refrain from everyday conversation and spend much of their time in silence. This creates a calm environment for meditation, reflection and guided activities without the usual social distractions. Our planned silent retreat is a five-day experience. Full programme details will be published when dates are confirmed.
Do I need previous experience with breathwork or ice baths?
No previous experience is necessary. Sessions are intended to be guided and accessible to people joining for the first time as well as those with previous experience.
Are ice-bath sessions compulsory?
No. None of our activities are compulsory. While we encourage participants to take part, there is always space to step back, rest and listen to what feels right for you.
Are meals included in the retreat?
Meals are intended to form an important part of the retreat experience, with time to eat and connect together. The exact meals and catering included will be stated with each retreat.
Is accommodation included in the retreat?
Yes. Accommodation, meals, tourist tax and use of all facilities... it's included in the price.
Can I attend a retreat alone?
Yes. You do not need to come as part of a group. Our organised retreats are designed for individual participants to join together, creating space to meet like-minded people and form new, meaningful connections along the way.
Can couples attend together?
Yes, subject to availability. Contact us if you would like to attend as a couple and we can explain the sleeping arrangements for the retreat.
What should I bring to a retreat?
A detailed packing list will be provided before each retreat. Comfortable clothing, swimwear and clothing suitable for spending time outdoors will generally be useful.
Can I use my phone during retreats?
Yes, although we strongly encourage participants to switch their phones to silent and leave them packed away during the retreat. Disconnecting from outside distractions is an important part of the experience, giving you the space to fully embrace the silence, be present and focus inward.
Tip: If the temptation to check your phone becomes too much, we also have a central location where we can keep it safe for you until you are ready to have it back.
Can companies organise a retreat at Japandi Lounge?
Yes. The property can also be suitable for small corporate retreats, team sessions and off-sites where the aim is to step away from the usual working environment.
Contact us with the size of your team and what you would like to achieve from the retreat.
How do I reserve a place on an upcoming retreat?
Contact Japandi Lounge through WhatsApp and mention the retreat you are interested in. We will confirm availability, pricing and the next steps for reserving your place.
Slow down. Reset. Reconnect.
